PURPOSE OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Through Christian education we invite people and communities of faith to be transformed as they are inspired and challenged to

-- Know and experience God through Jesus Christ,

-- Claim and live God’s promises, and

-- Grow and serve as Christian disciples

Mary Jane Pierce Norton, who is the Director of Family and Life-Span Ministries at the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville, Tennessee, has written the following prayer (a few
revisions have been made). As we begin our fall programming, let us take the words of this prayer and make them our own.

 

A Blessing for Learners
Gracious God: Help us to remember our role as learners and seekers of the faith. We give thanks for all those who support the teaching and learning that takes place through our congregation. Be with all — children, youth, and adults — who will be participating this year in our church school and Christian formation groups. Bless our times of study so that we may grow in faith. Bless our times of fellowship so that we may truly live as brothers and sisters in Christ. Bless our times of prayer and worship so that we may be enriched in our spirits. Amen.

TODDLER / TWO-YEAR-OLDS

Sunday School

Did you know that there is a Sunday School class for Toddlers and Two-Year-Olds?

They play, have a snack, and begin to learn the stories of the Bible in a safe and loving environment. We have a wonderful team of teachers that work with the children: Nancy Geesey, Lucy Eustace, and Carolyn Schnur. One additional team member to co-teach with Carolyn Schnur is needed the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Please consider joining the Children’s Ministry Team. ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

 

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY RESUMES

Want to further explore what the scripture lessons from our Sunday morning services have to say? That and other Biblical wisdom are pursued by the Wednesday Morning Bible Study each week meeting in rooms 214-216. These classes, taught by Rev. Bill Raker, resume on Wednesday, September 3, and meet weekly in that location from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. You are welcome to come. Bring your Bible and your questions and your interest and join us. WOW Women’s Fall Bible Study, A HEART LIKE HIS – an in depth study of David.   This is an 11-week study that will begin on Thursday September 11th and concludes on Thursday, November 20th. The study group meets in Room 317 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Thursday evenings. The format of the study includes a daily workbook with weekly discussions and video sessions on Thursday evenings.
