Why Be a Church Member?

One can worship and study and participate in all church programs without ever “joining an organization.” So, why be a member?

The best reason is because membership is our way of making a covenant with other Christians to join together in a concerted effort to proclaim and live in Christ. It is part of a “we are in this faith thing together” mentality.

Membership also allows us to serve on all of the decision-making boards so that our voice can be added to others. It allows us to be part of setting a direction and determining a future.

Membership allows you to VOTE at congregational meetings when big decisions need to be decided.

You may be a FULL MEMBER or an ASSOCIATE MEMBER. 

An Associate Member is someone who wishes to remain a full member at another church, it may be in your home town or it could be another denomination, AND actively participate at the church where you currently live.

Friends wishing to learn more about Towson United Methodist Church and join our congregation, your first meeting will be Sunday, February 5 from 9:45-10:45 AM.  Meet at the Welcome Station in the church's main lobby.

Your second (and last) meeting will be Sunday, February 12 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM in the church's Parlor.

Join the congregation of Towson United Methodist Church Sunday, February 19 during the 11:00 AM worship service.
