THE ARMED MAN: A Mass for Peace
To All Veterans & Spouses:
This is a special request to all
TUMC women and men
who have served in our armed forces and the widow or widower of a veteran.
To enhance our commemoration of Veteran’s Day on November 11, we are
designating the entire month of November as TUMC Veteran’s Month to pay
special tribute and honor to the women and men who have served in the US
military.
The main event will be the
Chancel Choir presentation of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace on
Veteran’s Day,
November 11, 2008 at 7:30. As part of this tribute, we plan to publish a
booklet of names, service dates and places, lists of medals, commendations
and awards, pictures and other information about your military service. In
addition, we are planning a display of your military memorabilia which will
be viewed during November. We will be in contact with you individually about
these plans. Only you can provide this information for us to use and we ask
that you do so as soon as possible so that we may start work on this
important project. Volunteer help will be most welcome.
Please provide the following
information and send to the church office c/o the 50th Anniversary
Committee or email to Pam Mitchell
so we can have a complete list of our veterans for the events which will
honor you and/or your spouse.
